Charlotte, N.C.—The North Greenville Volleyball team came up short in their bid for its second conference win of 2011 after dropping a match to Queens University of Charlotte in straight sets.

The Crusaders were only able to muster 20 kills in three sets against the Royals. A strong defensive Showing by Queens added to the NGU offensive struggles. The Royals picked up a first set win over the Crusaders 25-15.

Queens continued their impressive night down NGU 25-16 in the second set, and 25-18 in the third set. For the night, the Crusaders scratched 20 kills and 19 errors in 96 tries. The Royals tallied 36 kills and 16 errors in 88 attempts.

Senior Kaitlyn Pierce once again led the Lady Crusaders with 9 kills on 25 attempts while Abigail Frame dished out 16 assists. Kaitlyn Harris and Rebekah Mayes both had 8 digs in the Crusaders’ defensive effort.

The loss drops the Lady Crusaders to 6-6 on the season while falling to 0-2 in league play. The Lay Crusaders continue their conference schedule with a game on Saturday afternoon with a 1 p.m. tilt with King College.
