CRUSADER VOLLEYBALL OPENS SPLITS ON FIRST DAY OF MOUNT OLIVE INVITATIONAL

Mount Olive, N.C.—The North Greenville Crusaders traveled to Mount Olive College on Friday to continue a busy weekend. The Crusaders started the Mount Olive College Invitational with a 3-1 loss to Lander University. NGU quickly righted the ship however ever with a win over Elizabeth City State in straight sets.

In the first match of the day, the Crusaders and Bearcats battled in a back and forth first set , which took 52 points to decide. North Greenville came out on top in the first set 27-25. The Bearcats rebounded from the tough loss and swept the final three sets with scores of 25-18, 25-13, and 25-23.

The Crusaders proved once again that they were a resilient bunch however. In their second match of the night, NGU evened it’s weekend record at 1-1 after sweeping the Vikings of Elizabeth City State with set scores of 25-13, 25-19, and 25-19.

The Crusaders will start Saturday with a match against tournament host Mount Olive College starting at 10am and will wrap up their weekend in North Carolina at 2pm with a match against Fayetteville State.
