LADY CRUSADERS BREAK THE .500 MARK AFTER SOLID WIN IN CHARLOTTE

Charlotte, N.C.—The Crusader Volleyball team has been close to breaking the .500 barrier for the past two weeks and on Thursday the team did just that beating Johnson C. Smith University 3-0.

Heading into Thursday nights match against the Golden Bulls North Greenville was 9-9 but the win moved the Lady Crusaders to 10-9 and one win shy of equaling the team’s total wins in 2009.

The Lady Crusaders rode the momentum of a Wednesday night win over Benedict right into their first set with Johnson C. Smith beating the bulls 25-15. NGU continued the strong play in the second set. The Crusaders defeated the Bulls 25-19 to take a two games to none lead.

All year head coach Greg Mosely has been challenging his team to finish matches and his team responded yet again on Thursday night with a convincing 25-11 set victory giving North Greenville it’s second straight win.

“Tonight was just a good steady performance from the girls,” said Coach Mosely. “We picked up where we left off last night and played a very solid game. We served well and passed well and just played a very consistent game. We just have to build on what we did tonight and get ready for this weekend.”

The Lady Crusaders will rest on Friday before heading to Central, S.C. for a Tri-match Saturday with Johnson C. Smith and Southern Wesleyan.
