CRUSADER VOLLEYBALL TEAM SERVES 3-1 LOSS TO COLUMBIA COLLEGE

Tigerville, S.C.— The North Greenville Volleyball team returned home Tuesday night picking up an impressive 3-1 win over the Koalas of Columbia College.


The Lady Crusaders won the first two sets convincingly with scores of 25-16 and 25-12. Columbia bounced back in the third set with a 25-18 win. North Greenville took the match in the fourth set with a 25-21 set win.


Offensively the Crusaders were led by Anjelica Wilcox who had 12 kills, freshman Rebekah Mayes also put on a strong performance with 11 kills. Jenna McKinley led the team with 24 digs on defense while Melissa Ragsdale and Abigail Frame registered 19 digs and 14 digs respectively.


“In the past I have used the word pleased when talking about how the team has played; but tonight I was Proud,” said Greg Mosely. “I was proud of how the team overcame adversity, proud of how they stepped up and made plays and I’m extremely proud of how the team finished. “


“We had some freshman step up tonight in Rebekah Mayes, Jenna McKinley, Abigail Frame who continues to be a very solid setter for us in the middle. Anjelica Wilcox also played very well tonight and Melissa Ragsdale played a very solid game defensively for us.”


With tonight’s win North Greenville improves to 5-7 on the year as the team prepares for it’s next road match against Johnson and Wales on September 23.
