LADY CRUSADERS SPLIT ON LAST DAY OF PFEIFFER INVITATIONAL

Charlotte, N.C.—The North Greenville Volleyball wrapped up tournament play today in Charlotte defeating tournament host Pfeiffer University three sets to one followed by a three sets to one loss to Queens University of Charlotte.

The Crusaders needed four sets to beat Pfeiffer with scores of 25-12, 17-25, 25-19, and 25-20. The Crusaders came out swinging in the second match of the day winning the first set 25-18. The Royals of Queens proved too strong for the Crusaders however taking the next three sets with scores of 25-22, 26-24, and 25-23.

“The win of Pfeiffer was a good win for us over a quality team,” remarked head coach Greg Mosely. “I feel like we didn’t play as well as we could have but we did what it took to get the win. We had to play from behind a few times and we didn’t back down. The girls are learning how to fight back and I am very pleased with the Resilience.”

“Against Queens we were not able to finish like we did against Pfeiffer; but I am pleased with the teams maturity. The girls played well and are continuing to grow. We put ourselves in a position to win and battle ever set and we don’t give up. I feel like this is the best ball we have played all year.”

The Lady Crusaders fall to 3-5 on the season and return to the court for their first home match Wednesday against Piedmont College.
