LADY CRUSADERS SPLIT TO OPEN 2010 VOLLEYBALL SEASON

Anderson, S.C.—The North Greenville Crusader volleyball team opened the Greg Mosely era this evning dropping the first match of the night to Anderson University 3-1 but coming on strong in the second match of the night out maneuvering Newberry College 3-2.

The Crusaders faced tournament host Anderson to kickoff their 2010 season losing game one 25-16 but bounced back quickly in game two taking the second set 26-24. Anderson came back to take game three 25-21 and game four 25-19.

Coach Mosely rallied the troops for their second match of the day. The Crusaders came out strong taking the first match 25-23 to set the pace against South Atlantic Conference member Newberry College. Newberry would take the second set 25-17 and the third set 25-19. The Crusaders proved to strong for the Wolves however taking the third match 28-26 and sealing the first win of the season with a 15-11 score in the extra set.

With the split, the Lady Crusaders are 1-1 in the very young 2010 season. North Greenville will wrap up the tournament tommorow with an 11am match against Lincoln Memorial followed by the final match against local rival Southern Wesleyan University at 3pm. All matches will be held at Anderson University.
