The North Greenville Crusader volleyball team tried their hand in an unfamiliar place tonight as they hosted the first round of the NCCAA regional tournament. The women fought hard throughout the match but came up short in the end losing to Southeastern University (Lakeland, FL) 3-1 (25-27, 23-25, 25-23, 21-25).
Making her bid for the all-tournament team was Freshmen standout Sara Beth White, who had an amazing 15 kills in the losing effort. Kaitlyn Harris also played extremely well adding 15 digs and 4 aces to keep the Crusaders close. The Crusaders had their chances to win, but came up just short in a few sets.
The positive for the ladies is that much of the group including all conference players Charlotte Swain, Kayla O'Kelley, and Kaitlyn Harris (honorable mention) will all be back for the Crusaders next season. For those who haven't followed volleyball much this season, the outlook is bright for the young squad from Tigerville.
