With a huge crowd on hand in Hayes Gymnasium Thursday night, North Greenville dominated Milligan University on Senior Night.
As if scripted for a screenplay, The two NGU seniors honored before the game had their way throughout the match and lead the women to a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-21, 25-15). The pace was set early by Devan Davidson who played her first match as Libero for NGU. Davidson had 17 digs on the night, many of which were point savers. She also added two aces for the Crusaders.
From there it was Gabbrielle McKinley’s show and she made the best of her last regular season game in front of the home crowd contributing 10 digs, 21 assists, and 2 aces in the contest. “For us it begins with Gabby. She is definitely the Leader on this team, and does so not only in speech but by example on the court. She is special,” stated Coach Axson after the game.
The Crusaders now have one more regular season match-up away from Tigerville, and then prepare for the NCCAA regional tournament right here in Tigerville on November 20-21st.
