CRUSADERS CLIP EAGLES

The Crusader volleyball team accomplished something Tuesday night that hasn’t been done at Hayes Gymnasium this season, win in three straight sets.

Posting a complete game of 59 minutes, the Crusaders routed Toccoa Falls in their most complete game of the year. The offense was led by Anjelica Wilcox, who led the team with 9 kills despite playing only 2 of the three sets for the ladies. Lauren Hawkins was stellar from the service line contributing 4 aces, and Devan Davidson almost matched her with 3 aces of her own.

On the defensive side, Haleigh Gilbert dominated the net with 4 blocks, and many more assists. Kaitlyn Harris also played well filling the Libero position wit 13 digs on the short night.

As for Coach Axson, she was just happy to keep the blood pressure down stating, “ I was proud of the way we kept our composure and played our game. It was great to see the girls come out and stay aggressive throughout each set.”

The Crusaders next match will be September 26th, at Southern Wesleyan.
