”CARDIAC CRUSADERS” STRIKE AGAIN

The lady Crusaders pulled off another home-court thriller today as they beat Montreat College 3-2 (25-18, 25-27, 19-25, 25-19, and 16-14).

They key once again was attitude as the ladies never gave up even in some rough stretches of play. The “centerpiece” or at least the mouth piece of the Crusaders today was Jr. Lauren Hawkins who contributed 15 digs and 4 kills, but added even more with her voice. “Lauren definitely steeped up in leadership today. She did a great job of firing the team up and keeping us going,” stated Coach Axson. Gabbrielle McKinley once again filled the role of consistency as she spread the ball assisting 3 different Crusaders (White, Wilcox, and Swain) in 9 kill efforts.

On the defensive side of the ball, Kayla O’Kelley came up big with four blocks total 3 coming in the decisive 5th set. The Crusaders will look to continue their home success Wednesday as Toccoa Falls comes to Tigerville, for a 7 p.m. start.
