TIGERVILLE, SC – North Greenville University showed great promise Wednesday night, but fell in five games to Columbia College. The game marked the first time this season the Crusaders have gone five games. Games scores were as follows: 30- 26, 17- 30, 20- 30, 30- 24, 9- 15. The Crusaders fell to 2-13.
Charlotte Swain (Woodruff, SC--Southside Christian HS) , Amanda Bouchillon (Anderson, SC--Crescent HS), and Lauren Hawkins (Mauldin, SC--Southside Christian HS) led the offense for NGU recording 17, 13, 10 kills. Charissa Kee (Travelers Rest, SC--Travelers Rest HS) and Swain led defensively with 30 digs between them. Kee recorded 18, while Swain had 12.
Hawkins had a successful night serving by recording four aces. In Game 4 she served aces to win the game 30- 24.
Melissa Ragsdale dished out 45 assists.
Lauren Bach, Chelsea Brant, and Courtney Green led the offense for Columbia College recording 13, 11, 11 kills respectively. Danielle Gutierrez led the defense with 15 digs, while Brittany Strickland dished out 36 assists. Sara McCants added 11 blocks.
NGU will return to back to action September 21, 2007 at the Anderson Invitational.
