Volleyball breaks streak; defeats Allen

TIGERVILLE, SC--The streak is over.

North Greenville University broke a 29-game losing streak by defeating Allen University 3-0 Monday night in Hayes Gymnasium. The Crusaders won 30-4, 30-12, and 30-8.

Amanda Bouchillon led the way with 13 aces, 7 kills, and two blocks. Charlotte Swain added seven kills, while Beth Lowe and Laurel Vaughn chipped in three each.

Maegwen Salley led the team with eight assists, while Charissa Kee added five digs and nine aces.

"The girls maintained a high level of focus and kept the game at our level," remarked head coach Lauren Axson. "We talked before the game about hwo David aggressively attacked Goliath and didn't hold back, and I challenged them to be aggressive today, which showed up in our serving and attacking game."

"We are pleased to get our first win, but are not content with leaving things as they are," said Axson, who is in her first season at North Greenville.
