Volleyball falls at Mars Hill

MARS HILL, NC - The Lions' volleyball squad defeated the visiting Crusaders of North Greenville University in three games. Game scores were as follows: 30-7, 30-18 and 30-19. The Lions remain undefeated at 5-0 while NGU fell to 0-6 on the season.

Danielle Silvers (Waynesville, NC) and Lindsay Phillips (Rosman, NC) led the offense for MHC recording nine and seven kills in the win, respectively. Tiffany Oreka (Chesapeake, VA) led the Lion defense with 11 digs while Mehgan Flynn (Niles, MI) tallied four blocks. Jessica Britt (Chesapeake, VA) supplied the Lion attackers with 23 assists in the match. Chelsea Coleman

(Woodstock, GA) had a game high eight service aces in the contest.

Devan Davidson led NGU with six kills. Charlotte Swain and Davidson recorded 10 kills apiece. Missy Ragsdale tallied nine assists while Leah Timm recorded three blocks.

NGU will return to action on August 30 at home against Montreat College.
