NGU Women Post Best Finish in School History at Indoor Championships

Winston Salem, N.C. - The NGU Women's Track & Field team turned in a record setting performance on Sunday at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships finishing in third place.

Sunday's top three finish is the highest finish in the short history of the women's program. The Crusaders also set a record with the most all-conference finishes ever.

Megan Goodson set the tone for the weekend with her 10'7" pole vault, which set both North Greenville and Conference Carolinas' records. Shekinah Wilder also earned herself an individual championship as she jumped 37'4" in the women's triple.

The Crusaders also earned league championships on the track in both the 4X400 and Distance medley Relay. The team of Leah Austin, Georgia Delts, and Shekinah Wilder finished in a time of 4:03 in the 4X400 while Tori Davies, Ambria Shaw, London Miller, and Amanda Ward earned first place with a time of 13:18 in the distance medley.

NGU had two other top three finishes as Wilder earned a second place finish in the long jump while Kelsi Parris took third place in the pole vault.

The next stop for the North Greenville will be the NCAA Indoor National Championship hosted by Pittsburg State University. The dates for the National Championships are March 11-12 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
