Winston Salem, N.C.—The North Greenville Wome's Track & Field team wrapped up its indoor season on Sunday afternoon, turning in a sixth place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championships.
Megan Goodson turned in NGU's only gold medal performance of the day, defending here title in the women's pole vault, finishing with a height of 10 feet six inches. Zoe Engwall finished second behind Goodson in the same event, also with a height of 10 feet six inches. Goodson and Engwall both set the school as well as Conference Carolinas Championship records with their height.
The Crusaders also placed in the top five of the women's distance medley, as the team of Engwall, Georgia Delts, Ellen Canniff, and Amanda Ward crossed the finish line with a time of 13:26.40.
NGU runners accounted for several more top 10 finishes on Sunday afternoon. Ambria Shaw, Leah Austin, Shiobhan Fraser, and Georgia Delts earned a fourth place finish in the 4x400 relay after crossing the finish line in 4:13.15, while Amanda Ward came in sixth in the 3000 meter run, clockin in at 11:25.59.
Shiobhan Fraser earned a seventh place nod with a four foot nine inch high jump, while Goodson finished ninth in the triple jump. Tracy Ayugi finished ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 11.26 meters as Anel Miranda-Smith crossed the finish line in ninth place in the 60 meter hurdle with a time of 10.77.
Rounding out NGU's top 10 finishes was Zoe Engwall whose time of 2:36.69 earned her a ninth place finish in the 800-meter run. Miranda Smith finished 10th in the 200-Meter dash with a time of 27.12 while Leah Austin finished 12th in the same event with a time of 27.34.
