WOMEN'S TRACK OPENS 2015 AT WAKE FOREST INVITE

Winston Salem, NC - In the first track meet of the year the Crusaders traveled to Wake Forest University to compete in the Wake Forest Invitational.

On the men's side of the event for the Crusaders, Junior Ahmad Nesbitt wins the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:03.94 finishing three and a half seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Nesbitt finished 6th place in the one mile with the time of 4:42.

The Crusaders also took home top three finishes in several other events including a 2nd place finish in the 4x400 relay while Terry Davis took home a second place finish in the long jump and a third place finish in the high jump. Fellow Junior Devin Wannamaker put together a strong day with a finish of 3rd place in the 60 meter hurdles with the time of 8.3 seconds, fifth in the 200 Meter run with the time of 22.94 seconds, and had a 7th place finish in the 60 meter dash with the time of 6.94 seconds.

For the women, Zoe Engwall and Megan Goodson turned in two top 10 finishes finishing 8th and 10th in the women's pole vault. Shiobhan Fraser also added a top 10 finish, earning the 9th spot in the women's high jump with a height of five feet, one inch.

Amanda Ward finished 11th in the 3000 meter with a time of 11:36 while Ellen Canniff finished with a time of 6:37 in the mile, putting her in 17th. NGU also claimed 17th in the 800 meter as Navelev Valenciano crossed the finish line with a time of 2:50.

The Crusaders will be back in action on January 23rd and 24th at the Bob Pollock Invitational, hosted by Clemson University.
