Crusaders Set New School Records
Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville University track and field teams were well traveled this weekend as athletes competed in both the 49er Classic on the campus of UNC Charlotte and the PowerSox Invitational at Lenoir Rhyne University.
In Charlotte, sophomore Ahmad Nesbitt set a school-record in the 5K finishing with a time of 14:52, while freshman Ben Sessions finished the race with a time of 15:49 to set a new personal best.
At the PowerSox Invitaional freshman Terry Davis continued his early season success with a victory and school-record in the triple jump with a distance of 47’ 5.25”, while fellow freshman Antonio Hipps finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 44’ 5.5”. Freshman Jordan Ferguson also set a school-record in the 3000 meter steeple chase with a time of 10:55.11 to claim first place.
On the women’s side, the women’s 4x400 relay team of Ambria Shaw, Zoe Engwall, Shiobhan Fraser and Georgia Delts broke the school-record with a time of 4:12.46 and a second place finish, while Engwall won the women’s 800 meter run with a time of 2:26.94.
The Crusaders will have both team at the Terrier Relays on the campus of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC on April 5.
