Cullowhee, NC – On March 24, the North Greenville women’s track and field team competed in the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic on the campus of Western Carolina.
Competing against such schools as Western Carolina, Wofford College and UNC Asheville, the Crusaders fared well in many field events bringing home a number of Top 10 finishes.
Kaitlyn Pierce was the strongest competitor for North Greenville as she finished third in the high jump after clearing 5’ 03”, a personal best.
In the pole vault, Michaela Ward finished ninth overall after clearing 9’ ¼”, while Nastassa Sanford finished sixth in the long jump with a flight of 16” 83/4” and Shiobhan Fraser brought home a ninth place finish in the triple jump with a flight of 33’ 4 ½”.
The Crusaders will be in action again on April 4 in the Gamecock Open Meet in Columbia, SC.
