Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville men’s and women’s tennis fell to Limestone College on Saturday by scores of 5-4 and 7-2.
North Greenville was unable to find much success on the women’s side as the Saints took a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Limestone took wins of 8-7, 8-4, and 8-4 over the Crusaders.
North Greenville found some success in singles play as Camille Duhan and Fernanda de Lucca both scored points for NGU. Duhan earned a win in singles with a 4-2 win and a forfeit while de Lucca won 7-6/6-3. The Saints earned wins of 6-4/5-6/6-0 over Christina Keissling and 5-7/6-1/6-1 over Kylie Sandusky.
Limestone took wins in the fifth and sixth positions with 6-3/6-2 and 7-5/6-2 wins over Graysen Elms and Faith Moyers.
The men’s team won two of three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. Sjors van Eck and Edmundo Torres won 8-3 while Jose Gomez and William Greaves took an 8-2 win. Limestone’s only win came with an 8-4 victory over Torre and Dion Nijbor.
The Crusaders held serve but could only take down two singles points. Jose Gomez won his match 6-7/6-4/6-3 while Nijbor bounced back from a doubles loss to take a 7-6/6-2 win in singles play. Sjors van Eck fell 7-6/6-2 in the one position while Torre fell 6-1/6-4. William Greaves and Edmundo Torres also dropped decisions for the Crusaders.
North Greenville will be back in action on March 22nd against Emmanuel College at 2pm.
