Tigerville, S.C. - North Greenville women's tennis dropped a 9-0 decision to nationally ranked Tusculum, Thursday afternoon in Tigerville.
The 47th ranked Pioneers swept NGU in both doubles and singles play, dropping the Crusaders to 0-3, early in the 2016 season.
Camille Duhan and Maria Vargas dropped their singles matches to Franziska Funke and Kealee Heffner by scores of 6-1/6-1 and 6-1/6-0. Christina Kiessling fell to Erin Mills 6-3/6-2 while Kylie Sandusky and Fernanda Santos de Lucca both dropped decisions by scores of 7-6/6-2 and 6-3/6-0. Kelley Chapman also dropped her singles competition to Emily Waters 6-0/6-0.
The Crusaders didn't fair any better in double's play. Vargas and de Lucca fell 8-1 to Fuke and Amanda Sumner while Duhan and Kiessling dropped an 8-5 decision to Mills and Heffner. The Pioneers secured the tandem play sweep with an 8-0 win over Harley Smith and Sandusky.
North Greenville will host Young Harris College on March 2nd at Vance Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 2pm.
