Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville’s Conference Carolinas winning streak touched five games on Saturday as the Crusaders downed Belmont Abbey College 6-3.
Abbey took a 2-1 lead coming out of doubles play as Camille Duhan and Christina Kiessling earned North Greenville’s only doubles win with an 8-2 decision. The Belmont Abbey scored wins in the second and third positions with wins of 8-6 and 8-7.
Duhan earned her second win of the day in singles play with a 6-4/6-0 victory to even the total count at 2-2. Kiessling earned the lead for North Greenville with a 6-3/6-2 singles win that pushed the score to 3-2 in favor of NGU.
Abbey evened the score at 3-3 with a win in the third position but North Greenville locked up the final three victories of the day to down the other Crusaders. Kylie Sandusky earned a 6-3/6-1 win while Fernanda Santos de Lucca scored the match deciding victory with a 6-2/6-2 win. Graysen Elmsalso had a say in the final score as she pulled out a 6-0/6-1 win.
North Greenville improved to 5-0 in league play while improving to 6-6 overall. The Crusaders will travel to Mount Olive on April 8th looking to stay on top of the Conference Carolinas standings.
