WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS MATCH TO DIVISION I UNC ASHEVILLE

Asheville, N.C.—The NGU Women fell to Division I opponent UNC Asheville on Tuesday 7-0 to fall to 5-6 on the season.

The Bulldogs swept through doubles play taking the first two sets 8-0 and 8-1 over the teams of Vargas/Beacham and Keissling/Duhan to take a 1-0 lead over the Crusaders heading into singles play. Aline Ribeiro and Ann Hayden Huxford finished their doubles frame tied a three all after the Bulldogs clinched the doubles' point with the first two victories.

The Bulldogs impressively worked their way through the NGU singles contenders. Rebecca Beacham, Camille Duhan, and Christina Keissling all fell 6-1/6-1 in their frames, as UNCA earned a 4-0 overall advantage. Ribeiro fell 6-1/6-0 while Maria Vargas dropped her second spot set 6-2/6-0. Ann Huxford dropped her singles game 6-3/6-1.

NGU will be back in action tomorrow against Converse College at 3pm in Tigerville.
