NGU WINS SECOND STRAIGHT CONFERENCE MATCH WITH WIN OVER BOBCATS

Banner Elk, N.C.—The NGU women's tennis team improved to 3-1 in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 win over Lees-McRae.

The Crusaders picked up two wins in doubles play as Christina Kiessling and Camille Duhan won 8-1 while Aline Ribeiro and Ann Hayden Huxford scored an 8-2 win.

The Crusaders clinched the league win with three wins in the singles matches. Rebecca Beacham rebounded from a doubles loss with a 6-3/7-6/6-4 win to get things started as NGU took a 3-1 lead. Maria Vargas took a 6-4/6-3 win while Aline Ribeiro clinched the win with a 6-2/6-1 win to give NGU the 5-3 lead. Huxford wrapped up the day with a 6-0/6-1 win for North Greenville.

The Crusaders are now 5-5 overall with a game against UNC Asheville scheduled for March 24th.
