CRUSADERS FALL TO 30TH RANKED PATRIOTS

Tigerville, S.C.—North Greenville fell to 1-2 on the season Wednesday afternoon after falling to 30th ranked Francis Marion 8-1.

The Crusaders failed to get a point in the doubles competition as the Patriots took a 3-0 lead. Maria Vargas and Rebecca Beacham fell 8-0 to start the day while Christian Kiessling and Camille Duhan lost 8-3. Sline Ribeiro and Ann Hayden Huxford also lost 8-0.

North Greenville's only win of the day came in singles play as Camille Duhan took a 2-6/6-3/10-5win. NGU was too far behind at that point to stage a comeback however, as the Patriots took the first three singles sets with a 6-2/6-3 win over Maria Vargas, a 6-0/6-2 win over Beacham, and a tough 6-1/6-7/10-5 loss for Christina Kiessling. Aline Ribiero and Ann Huxford both fell 6-2/6-0.

The Crusaders will play their first conference match of the season Friday afternoon as Erskine College comes to Tigerville for a 2pm first serve.
