NORTH GREENVILLE TOPPED BY WRIGHT STATE

Tigerville, S.C.—The North Greenville Women's Tennis Team fell to 1-1 on the season, Monday afternoon after dropping an 8-0 decision to Division I Wright State at Vance Tennis Center.

Wright State swept through the NGU doubles pairs, but not without resistance from the Crusaders. Maria Vargas and Rebecca Beacham dropped their first game of the season after an 8-3 loss to open doubles play. Camille Duhan and Christina Kiessling fell in the second tandem spot, but put up a fight as they lost 8-5. Aline Ribiero and Ann Hayden Huxford also lost their doubles frame by a score of 8-1.

The Crusaders continued to struggle in the singles portion of Monday afternoon, as the Raiders took all six games. Vargas played solid for NGU, forcing a tiebreaker, but lost 4-6/6-1/1-6 in the end. Rebecca Beacham dropped her singles match 6-0/6-0 while both Christina Kiessling and Camille Duhan fell 6-1/6-2. Aline Ribiero and Ann Hayden Huxford also dropped sets with identical scores of 6-1/6-0.

North Greenville will travel to Francis Marion on March 4th for one final out of conference match before Erskine travels to Tigerville for the first Conference Carolinas match of 2015 on March 6th. First serve for NGU and FMU is scheduled for 2:30.
