NGU FALLS TO WOFFORD IN NON-CON ACTION

Spartanburg, S.C.—The North Greenville women’s team took on its third division I opponent on Tuesday afternoon, continuing a difficult early 2014 season. The Crusaders fell to the Wofford Terriers 7-0, dropping NGU to 0-7 on the season.

Rebecca Beacham accounted for the most offense, but dropped her singles match 6-2, 6-2. Maggie Elliot fell in her singles competition 6-1, 6-2, while Erin Grimsley, Susane Lenz, and Aline Ribiero all dropped 6-0, 6-1 decisisons. Christina Kiessling dropped her singles frame 6-0, 6-0.

The outlook was much the same in doubles, as the Crusaders were once again swept. The team of Lenz and Elliot put together the most complete performance, but fell 8-6. Ribeiro and Kiessling fell in their doubles match 8-3 while Beacham and Grimsley fell 8-1. NGU will open Conference Carolinas play on Friday when Pfeiffer comes to Greer for a 1pm first serve.
