CRUSADERS STILL SEARCHING FOR FIRST 2014 VICTORY

Greer, S.C.—The North Greenville women’s tennis team was left still searching for its first win of the 2014 season on Tuesday evening after falling to the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial University 7-2 at Greer Country Club in Greer, South Carolina. 

NGU’s only wins of the day came in singles matches as Aline Ribeiro dispatched Priscilla Bulandres 6-2, 4-6, 10-6, in three sets. Rebecca Beacham followed Ribeiro with a win of her, taking a three set 0-6, 6-1, 10-3 decision from Roksolana Prudyvus, earning her first singles win of the season.

NGU came up empty in the doubles matches however. Susane Lenz and Maggie Elliot dropped an 8-2 frame to Elena Vasilyeva and Gemma Goodland. Ribeiro and Christina Keissling put together a well fought match, but also fell short 8-6, while Beacham and Victoria Gomez dropped the final doubles frame 8-5.

North Greenville will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina to take on Wofford University. The Crusaders and Terriers are scheduled for a 2:30 first serve.
