WOMEN'S TENNIS EARNS 6TH SPOT IN PRESEASON COACHES POLL

High Point, N.C.—The North Greenville women's tennis team will open the 2014 portion of its schedule, ranked sixth in the Conference Carolinas preseason coache's pole.

The Crusaders finished the 2013 season 7-13 overall, but played well in league matches, finishing with a  5-7 mark against Conference Carolinas teams under first year head coach, and former NGU standout Tomas' Kurhajec. Erskine College topped the poll, ringing in in the number one spot with seven first place votes. Pfeiffer, Mount Olive, Limestone, and Barton round out the top five, followed by North Greenville, Belmont Abbey, King, Lees-McRae, and Converse in spots 6-9.

North Greenville women's tennis team is introducing two new Freshman to the team, Erin Grimsley from Asheville, NC and Christina Kiessling from Munich, Germany. Kurhajec feels that they will be a great fit to the team. North Greenville University's seniors, Susane Lenz (Brazil) and Victoria Gomez (Florida), will both be finishing their last season as a Crusader this Spring and will be missed by the team. Kurhajec has high hopes for this years women's team.

The Crusaders will open the 2014 tennis season on Saturday, February 1st, against Newberry and Presbyterian Colleges. NGU's first home match will be February 6th at 2pm against Francis Marion.
