CRUSADERS EASE PAST PIONEERS IN NON CONFERENCE SHOWDOWN

Greer, S.C.—The North Greenville women’s tennis team upped its season record to 5-11 on the season Tuesday, blanking Spartanburg Methodist 6-0 in non conference action. The Crusaders remain 3-5 in Conference Carolinas action.

Aline Ribeiro and Muriel Adib got NGU on the board early in doubles action with an 8-0 win over SMC’s Bell and Huggins. Rebecca Beacham and Victoria Gomez continued the solid play shutting out their doubles opponents 8-0 as well.

The Crusaders put together their best singles session of the season Wednesday, blanking SMC in every set. Ribeiro, Adib, Gomez and Haley Hardwick all cruised to 6-0/6-0 set wins in singles play, giving the Crusaders their dominant 6-0 decision.

The match against Spartanburg Methodist wrapped up North Greenville’s 2013 home schedule. The Crusaders will return on conference play on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Spartanburg for a 3:30 showdown with Converse College.
