Wilson, N.C.—The North Greenville women’s tennis team fell to 0-3 on the season and 0-3 in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon after dropping a 7-2 decision to the Barton College Bulldogs to wrap up a busy weekend. 

Susane Lenz continued her solid play, giving North Greenville its only singles win of the day, with a 6-3/4-6/ 6-3 triple set win over Smiljana Kljajic. Rebecca Beacham was solid for NGU but fell in three sets 6-7(4-7)/6-1/10-8 to Barton’s Caroline Fischer. 

In doubles, the Crusaders picked up a win from the team of Rebecca Beacham and Victoria Gomez who out dueled Caroline Fisher and Francesca Del Pozo 8-5. Suzane Lenz and Maggie Elliot went to a tiebreaker in their game, but fell to Alicia Lasry and Lindsey Frederick 9-8 (8-6). Aline Ribeiro and Muriel Adib fell 8-6 to Meredith Pruden and Similjana Kljajic 8-6 to wrap up a touch weekend for the Crusaders. 

The Crusaders will look for their first win of the 2013 season on February 13th when they travel to Lander University.
