Friday afternoon, the Lady Crusaders played the Tusculum College Pioneers in Greeneville, TN.
Feeling good after last week's shut out against Greensboro, the ladies were ready to step up to the challenge of facing the undefeated Pioneers. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so with a loss of 9-0. Sarah Stanga (Midland, MI) played her opponent, Katie Hills, close with a 7-6 loss in her first set. Natalie Stewart (Anderson, SC) and Cassie Curtis (Florence, SC) played well in doubles, but were unable to pull off a victory with a final score of 8-6. Head Coach Mark Elliot was proud of the ladies and their efforts and thought they played well against their tough opponent. The ladies are currently 3-4 on the season and will be getting geared up to play UVA Wise after a restful spring break. The match will be on March 17 at 2 p.m. on their home court.
