Women's tennis comes off ”flat” to Roberts Wesleyan 4-5

On Wednesday afternoon, the lady Crusaders played Roberts Wesleyan University on their home court and came up short in the end with a final of 5-4.

The ladies had a rocky start, losing their first set of doubles for the afternoon. Natalie Stewart (Anderson, SC) and Sarah Stanga (Midland, MI) stepped up and were able to pull off a win in the second set of doubles. Unfortunately, that would be the only earned win of the afternoon for the Lady Crusaders. The third set of doubles was won by the Crusaders through a default. In singles, the ladies came up short in the first four sets and fortunately for the Crusaders, the Raiders ended up having to default the fifth and sixth sets. "We were flat.", said Head Coach Mark Elliot. "We have got to get to the point where we can play back to back and not be flat." The ladies will play again on February 25 against Carson Newman College in Tennessee at 2p.m.
