Women's tennis dominates Newberry

At home today, women’s tennis defeated Newberry College 7-2. This was their biggest win of the season and an incredible feat, seeing as how they were missing one of their starting six, Cherie Curtis.

Winning in doubles was number two, Courtney Lynn and Cassie Curtis, as well as number three, Sarah Stanga and Natalie Stuart.

The final four victories came from the individual matches of Katherine Shaw, Lynn, Curtis, Stephanie Tyrpak, and Stewart.

“The girls played very, very well,” said Coach Mark Elliot. “They really had to step it up because Cherie was gone, and they did just that.”

The women will back home on Saturday, March 27, to take on USC-Lancaster.
