An Unsuccessful V-day for Women's Tennis

The women were defeated 8-1 today by Lander University, an unfortunate mirror image score from yesterdays play against Spartanburg Methodist.

Number one doubles, sophomore Salem Erni and Katherine Shaw were the lone victors for NGU. However, Stephanie Tyrpak put up an impressive fight, with scores of 6-3 and 6-4 in both of her sets.

The Crusaders have been playing some serious competition these past couple of weeks, with a Conference winner in Shaw University, the number 22 NCAA division II team in the nation, USC-Aiken, and the number 11 today with Lander. “I like playing a tough schedule – tough teams are a better test and make our players better,” commented Elliot.

The women will travel to North Carolina this weekend to play Greensboro College on Saturday.
