Women Play Well but Suffer Defeat

The Crusaders’ women’s tennis team was overwhelmingly defeated today by USC-Aiken, 8-1.

Stephanie Trypak, number six in the singles lineup, achieved the lone win for NGU. Tyrpak also won her singles match yesterday against Shaw University. Hopefully she will be able to keep up her wining streak in the matches ahead.

“I was pleased with their performance today, even though we lost,” said Coach Mark Elliot. “You never like to loose of course, but everyone played well.” Coach Elliot said that USC-Aiken is a tough team - they are Nationally ranked in the top 25 for NCAA Division II schools. The Crusaders, however, did as well as they could have hoped.
