HIGH POINT, N.C.- Women's Soccer Head Coach Andy Robinson was tabbed the Coach of Year by Conference Carolinas, announced on Wednesday, November 1. Also receiving awards were Senior goalkeeper Maddie Schober who made the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team, jenior defender, Asheton Robinson, who was named to the All-Conference First-Team, and senior midfielder Tori Owens who was named to the All-Conference Second-Team.
Coach Robinson wrapped up his fourth season at NGU, leading the team to an 8-6-4 overall mark and its best Conference Carolinas record in program history at 6-4-1. The Crusaders finished fourth in the Conference standings, which allowed them to host the first Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship match ever in Tigerville, S.C. Robinson is only the second Conference Carolinas Coach of the Year recipient from North Greenville University.
Maddie Schober was in the top of the conference in most all goalkeeper stats finishing with 115 saves and averaging less than 1 goal per game against over the course of the season. She also helped the team secure 5 shutouts.
Asheton Robinson played in 19 games this season and started in each game. She scored two goals for the Crusaders, against Southern Wesleyan and a game-winner against King. She also assisted fellow senior, Brittany Waldrep, on a goal against Converse on Senior Night.
Tori Owens finished the season second on the team with 4 goals. Owens started in all 20 games for the Crusaders in her final season. Her most memorable goal of the season was a chipper over Barton's goalie to give the Crusaders a 1-0 double-overtime win.
