Women's Soccer earns tournament berth with win over Barton

North Greenville solidified its place in the Conference Carolinas tournament today with a win over the Barton Bulldogs, earning the seventh seed after a 2-0 win.

The teams dueled to a scoreless first half before the Crusaders finally got on the board. In the 59th minute, Asheton Robinson scored her second goal of the season as received a pass from Courtney Etheridge and slid it past the Bulldog keeper.

Etheridge got her chance later in the game as she scored her first goal of the season to put the Crusaders up 2-0. In the 7oth minute, Etheridge latched onto a cross and put it in the back of the net.

That score would be all the Crusaders needed as they cruised to the final whistle. Etheridge is credited with a goal and an assist on the night and Robinson was credited with a goal and an assist as well. Madelyn Schober spent the full 90 minutes as the keeper, recording three saves and a clean sheet on the night.

The Crusaders will travel to face the second-seeded Limestone Saints in the Conference Carolinas Tournament Quarterfinals on November 2. The game is set for 7 p.m. in Gaffney, S.C.
