Megan Robertson scored her first goal of the season and Lindsay Tuten added two more to her league-leading total as the Crusaders topped the Columbia International Rams by a score of 3-0.
North Greenville opened the game with a fast start and it only took 12 minutes to find the breakthrough. Robertson opened the scoring for the Crusaders when she latched onto a pass from Courtney Ethridge and knocked it past the Rams's keeper. It took only 10 more minutes for the second goal to come as Tuten continued to impress with her scoring ability. The goal came from a pass that Tuten stole off a Columbia International defender and calmly slotted past the keeper for her ninth goal of the season.
North Greenville came out in the second half with matched intensity, and Tuten grabbed her 10th goal of the season in the 48th minute. Tuten once again caused havoc in the Rams back line and was able to force a turnover before scoring the third goal of the game. The teams would play out the rest of the half scoreless and North Greenville left with its sixth win of the season.
Tuten's two goals tonight make her the leading scorer in Conference Carolinas, while Ethridge assisted two of the three goals on the night.
The Crusaders return to action on October 17 for their homecoming game against the King University Tornadoes. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
