The Crusaders broke a three game losing streak and got their first conference win as they beat the Erskine Flying Fleet by a score of 2-0.
Junior Lindsay Tuten scored both goals for the Crusaders, slotting them behind the Flying Fleet keeper early in the first half. Her first goal came in the 17th minute and she followed with a quick, second goal less than a minute later. Junior Courtney Etheridge assisted Tuten on the first goal and Senior Kathryn Allen assisted on the second.
The Crusader defense settled into the game and notched the third clean sheet of the season. Sophomore Madelynn Schober played the full 90 minutes in goal, recording three saves on the night.
Allen and junior Sara Forrester were the only other Crusaders to attempt shots on the night, with Allen recording two shots and Forrester recording one.
The Crusaders record improves to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Conference Carolinas play. The team takes on Limestone next in Gaffney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night.
