Saturday, September 19, 2015

Franklin Springs, Ga.—The NGU Women's Soccer Team was unable to overcome an early one point deficit as the Emmanuel College Lions escaped with 1-0 conference win over the Crusaders.

The Lions scored just 1:47 into the opening half on a goal from Emma Tamblyn. The goal would be all Emmanuel needed as the Crusaders were unable to capitalize on 12 shots on goal. The Lions keeper made five key saves to keep NGU from scoring while the NGU keeper Madelynn Schober made three saves for NGU.

Lindsay Tuten led NGU with two shots on net while Olivia Schmitke, Asheton Robinson, and Megan Robertson also put shots on frame. The Crusaders fall to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in Conference Carolinas play. NGU will host Erskine College on September 22nd at 5pm.
