Women's Soccer Earns First Win Over Trojans
Tigerville, SC – It was a day of celebration for the Crusaders as it celebrated its seniors and picked up its first victory 2-1 over the Trojans of Mount Olive.

As the Crusaders honored its seniors before the game, it was a special moment for senior Taylor Kelley, who has been sidelined this season due to concussions.  Kelley got to take the opening kickoff before being subbed out to the cheers of the crowd and her teammates.

The first half would see neither team able to breakthrough as both teams finished the half with six shots.  Goalkeeper Madelynn Schober finished the half with four saves as she started for injured goalkeeper Katie Tate.

It would be 15 minutes into the second half for the Crusaders to open the scoring as forward Lindsay Tuten would pick up the ball and chip the keeper to the far post from 25 yards out.

The Trojans would get a goal back four minutes later as Jess Hickey would receive a pass from Maddy Robak to get the Trojans level.

It would take 15 minutes for the Crusaders to get back the lead as Lauren Prevett would receive the corner from Sierra Singh and give the Crusaders their first win of the season.
Schober would finish the game with seven saves, picking up her first win of the season.

North Greenville (1-11-1, 1-6-1 Conference Carolinas) will be in action again on Wednesday, Oct. 22 when they host the Lees McRae College at 5 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
