Crusaders Fall In Home Opener
Tigerville, SC - The North Greenville Lady Crusaders dropped their home opener to the Trojans of Anderson University 2-0 in a hotly contested game that didn’t see scoring until the second half.

The Trojans high powered offense came out firing with 11 shots in the first half, but the Crusaders defense held their ground as Goalies, senior, Katie Tate and, sophomore, Michelle Huddleston turned away every attempt at goal.

The Trojans would break through however, in the 48th minute as Maddie Volz would score on a screamer from 18 yards out to break through the deadlock.  The Trojans would add another in the 71st minute as Mariana Poveda would have her shot deflect off an NGU defender and trickle into the back of the net. The Lady Crusaders struggled for offense as their lone shot would come from senior Frankie Jumper in the 6th minute.

The Crusaders (0-2, 0-0 Conference Carolinas) will travel to Erskine College on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. in Due West, SC.
