Lady Crusaders Drop Season Opener To Bears
Thursday, September 4, 2014
Tigerville, SC - The beginning of the 2014 North Greenville Lady Crusaders season didn’t go as hoped. The Lady Crusaders dropped their season opener to Truett-McConnell University 2-1.

The Lady Crusaders were hit early as the Bears scored just 10 minutes in. The Bears would follow up with a goal five minutes later to take a two nothing lead in the 15th minute.

The Lady Crusaders would battle back late as Senior Erin McLure scored a goal unassisted in the 55th minute.  The goal would not be enough however, as the Lady Crusaders were outshot 25 to seven.  Goalkeepers Katie Tate and Michelle Huddleston combined for 12 saves and forward Lindsay Tuten fired three shots on goal as NGU found a few positives.

The Crusaders (0-1, 0-0 Conference Carolinas) will host in-state rival Anderson University on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m. in Pepsi Stadium.
