Frazier Returns To NGU Soccer
DTigerville, SC – Women’s soccer head coach Rachel Baer has officially announced the hiring of Leah Frazier as the new women’s soccer assistant coach.
Frazier takes over for former assistant coach Hannah Gmerek who will be playing professionally in the Czech Republic in the upcoming season.
"It is such a privilege to have Leah join the women's soccer program on the coaching side of things," said Baer. "She has seen where this program has been and shares my vision for where I want it to go, and I know she will be a perfect compliment to me and my staff this fall."
""Leah was an excellent player in her time," Baer continued. " She understands the game game very well but she also has a heart for the girls on the team and will be a great example and leader for the young women in our program."
Better known to Crusaders fans as the former Leah Ward, Frazier finished her career as a Crusader in 2012 and will return to North Greenville to assist in all areas of coaching beginning in the 2013 season.
"I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to return to North Greenville as a coach for the women's soccer program," said Frazier. "It has truly been a blessing to compete in the program as a player and to now have a chance to play a part in the success of the team as a coach. I couldn't ask for a better situation to be in."
A former standout on the soccer field, Frazier transferred to North Greenville University from the University of Hawaii in 2008 and quickly cemented herself in the record books, scoring a school-record 47 career goals in four seasons.
