Tigerville, SC – The North Greenville women’s soccer team earned its third straight victory over a Conference Carolinas’ opponent, defeating Erskine College 3-1 on Wednesday night in Pepsi Stadium.
The Crusaders and Flying Fleet were scoreless for much of the early part of the first half until freshman Lindsay Tuten recorded a goal in the 34th minute of play. Tuten’s goal came on an assist from sophomore Caroline Baker as North Greenville carried a one goal lead into the half.
Early in the second half, senior Marguerite Motsinger scored her first goal of the season in the 54th minute of play to give the Crusaders a two-goal lead before the Flying Fleet tallied a goal in the 63rd minute of play.
Tuten scored her second goal of the game and eighth of the season in the 86th minute of the play when she finished an assist from junior Ansley Dobbs to secure the 3-1 victory.
North Greenville oushot Erskine 19-6 overall as junior keeper Katie Tate totaled three saves in the contest.
The Crusaders (7-8, 4-4 Conference Carolinas) will look to continue their climb up the conference standings when the host Belmont Abbey College on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. in Tigerville.
