Crusaders Shutout In Inaugural ”Pink Game”

Tigerville, SC – In the second game of a five-game home stand the Crusaders suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Saints of Flagler College on Monday afternoon in Pepsi Stadium.

The Crusaders, wearing pink jerseys in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, and Saints were scoreless for much of the game until Flagler’s Cassie Fernandez buried a shot into the back of the net in the 89th minute to secure the victory.

Junior keeper Taylor Kelley recorded four saves in 60:30 of play, while freshman Michelle Huddleston played 29:30 and recorded two saves in her first collegiate game as Flagler totaled 11 shots to just three by the Crusaders.

North Greenville (5-8, 2-4 Conference Carolinas) will host King University tomorrow, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. in Tigerville as the Crusaders continue their push toward postseason play.
