Misenheimer, NC – Thanks in large part to an early goal, the Falcons of Pfeiffer University defeated the Crusaders 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in a Conference Carolinas’ matchup.
Pfeiffer’s Aaliyah Jackson finished a rebounded shot into the back of the net in just the 8th minute of play as the Falcons defense held strong all game to secure the shutout.
North Greenville’s Katie Tate recorded eight saves as Pfeiffer outshot the Crusaders 17-3 in the game.
“The good news is that in every game we get better,” said head coach Rachel Baer. “It is never easy to lose, but I am proud of how far we have come as a program in just one short year. We know what we need to keep working on and hopefully with our last five games being at home we can get a few more wins and be in good standing for the conference tournament.”
The Crusaders (4-7, 1-4 Conference Carolinas) will host Barton College in another conference tilt on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 1 p.m. in Tigerville.
