Women's Soccer Shutout By Limestone

Gaffney, SC – The women’s soccer team was shutout for the third straight game, losing 1-0 to Conference Carolinas foe Limestone College on Saturday afternoon on the road.

After a scoreless first half of play, Limestone’s Gabriella Reid, the conference leader in goals scored, netted her 9th goal of the season on an assist from Grace Core in the 75th minute of play. North Greenville was unable to recover and the Saints held on for the one-goal victory at home.

Crusader keeper Katie Tate recorded four saves in the loss as Limestone totaled nine shots in the game compare to just five by the Crusaders.

"I hate that we are walking away with the loss when we were clearly the better side today," said head coach Rachel Baer. "The girls possessed the ball so well and they looked so sharp out there. I couldn't be more proud. We were not able to capitalize in the final third, but we will fix that be ready to go next week."

North Greenville (4-6, 1-3 Conference Carolinas) will be on the road again next Saturday, Oct. 12 as they travel to Misenheimer, NC to face Pfeiffer University at 1 p.m.
