Lady Crusaders Dominate In Conference Carolinas Opener

Tigerville, S.C. – North Greenville forward Jade Salle scored three goals as the Lady Crusaders down Barton College 4-2 on Saturday night in Pepsi Stadium.

Barton got on the board early with a goal in 27th minute to gain an early one goal advantage.

North Greenville evened the scored just before the half as Salle recorded her first goal of the game in the 44th minute on an assist from Cara Cecil to tie the game at 1-1 going into halftime.

Shortly after the second half began, freshman Noelle Beasley scored her second goal of the season to put the Lady Crusaders up 2-1. Rebecca Stidham assisted on the goal.

North Greenville continued its second half domination as Salle scored two more goals in the 65th and 67th minute on assists from Beasley and Danielle Smith to put the game away for the Lady Crusaders and secure the team’s first ever win in Conference Carolinas.

The Lady Bulldogs final goal of the game was scored in the 85th minute.

"We played the full 90 minutes and the result turned out in our favor," said head coach Jesse McCormick. "We did a good job in the second half of keeping shape defensively and keeping possession as a team."

The Lady Crusaders (2-1, 1-0) travel to Greenwood, SC on Wednesday, Sept. 14 to play against Lander University at 4:30 p.m.
