Lady Crusaders knocked out of regional tournament

Tigerville, SC – The women’s soccer team played host to Emmanuel College on Saturday with hopes of moving forward in the NCCAA Regional Tournament. The Lady Lions netted the games only goal in the 71st minute to come away with a 1-0 victory.

“It is definitely frustrating to lose this game after having such a successful season,” said head coach Jesse McCormick. “It is a tough loss, but especially since I thought we could’ve played better and more consistently. We had more opportunities than they did but we just couldn’t capitalize on those opportunities.”

North Greenville outshot Emmanuel 17-7 throughout the game, but the Lady Lions capitalized on a Lady Crusader mistake to score the game-winning goal.

The Lady Crusaders finish the 2010 season with a record of 10-7 and will graduate four senior from this year’s team.
